Matt McDonough is a freelance documentary photographer based out of Brooklyn, NY. He had a background in healthcare and a B.A. from Fordham University in Anthropology and Journalism before deciding to pursue his lifelong passion of photography. In June he finished the one-year photojournalism program at the International Center of Photography where he received a Director's Scholarship.

He won first place in one category and received three honorable mentions in the 2009 International Photography Awards (www.photoawards.com). He is featured in the American Photography 25 Tribute Gallery for the 2008 competition (www.ai-ap.com). Last September, three of his pieces began tour ing the country for a year in a show curated by the National Network of Depression Centers. He was also be exhibited at the 2009 Pingyao Photo Festival in China.
